Dominant or Recessive?

Have you ever wondered who and where you got your traits from?
Maybe it's just Ric and I, but we were very curious as to what Mateo would get from each of us. As a brief student of genetics back in college, I went back to the books and found the following:
Tongue Rolling - dominant (he rolls his tongue a lot)
Dimples - dominant (very cute)
Attached Earlobes - recessive (looks a little attached & free )
Brown Hair - dominant (obviously)
Straight Hair - recessive (still yet to be determined)
Broad Lips - dominant (couldn't help this one)

First Snow

DEC. 16 - Plymouth got it's first big snow of the season with about 8 inches in our area. Ric spent the morning shoveling the driveway. Mateo spent the day playing indoors. Mr. Quincy spent the day sleeping. I spent the day cleaning up after everyone. We will eventually make it out to help Mateo build his first snowman.

Happy Birthday Jack : )

DEC. 15 - Jack (my good friend Jane's son) turned 2 years old and we were happy to celebrate with him. Mateo had so much fun exploring and playing. He even got his first taste of a chocolate cupcake.

DEC. 15 - ... COWLICKS. I was standing on the other side of Ric and saw their mirror image cowlicks just glaring at me. It made me chuckle, so I snapped a quick pic to show Ric. He couldn't help but to laugh too.

Crazy Do

DEC. 13 - When I took his winter hat off, this is what I found...
CraZy HaiR : )

Mmm, mmm...

DEC. 12 - Mum-Mum crackers are a new favorite snack.
The smile on his face tells all.

I Can't Get No...

DEC. 10 - SATISFACTION! According to Mateo, Snickers really does satisfy you.

Big Boy Milestones

I can't believe that Mateo is almost 10 months old! We've all come so far. He's hit some pretty big milestones:

1. CRAWLING - I didn't think he'd ever crawl but the day after he turned 9 months old he started cruisin' around the house. Now we can barely keep up.

2. BABBLING - he's been babbling for a long time already but he's been saying "doggie." It's SO cute. Everytime he sees the Mister, he says, "gee" followed with "gah-gee." OK, to us, he's obviously saying ,"doggie."

3. TEETHING!!! He has one in the top and one in the bottom coming in. I didn't even know he was teething until I flipped him upside down while we were playing. Then I had to feel them for myself to confirm my sighting. Yay!

4. BIG PEOPLE FOOD - You've probably all seen the picture of him eating the potato bites, but he's even had some soup, bread, and a tiny taste a chocolate cupcake - Yummy!

Toy Land 2

What a life to be able to bathe in so much fun : )

Here Are a Few of My Favorite Things...

Mateo is surrounded by a few of his favorite things, most of which came from his Aunt Bethie. She made the fleece blanket as a Baby Shower gift, and the striped PJs and teddy bear are Christmas gifts. He L-O-V-E, loves his teddy bear! He gets so excited every time he sees him that, he hugs and kisses him. This isn't just my testimonial, Ric has been a witness too. Thank you, Aunt Bethie : )

Oh, Santa Baby!

DEC. 9 - We braved the cold weather and slick sidewalks to get Mateo to Santa Claus. I swear he smiled and laughed, but Ric just kept missing those moments. He was such a good boy, he even got a crushed candy cane. We all enjoyed the first visit with the Jolly Ol' Man.

Toy Land

Here's a clip of Mateo thoroughly enjoying his newly arrived toys from his Tia Nena and Abuelita Graciela. Muchas gracias por todos.

The Escape

This is a clip of Mateo and Mr.Quincy plotting there escape from the 2nd Floor.

Peek-A-Boo Box

Mr. Mischief

DEC. 5 - Mateo loves to explore and to see what he can get into. Once he started crawling (the day after he turned 9 months old) he's been hard to keep still. Thank you to Nanny Or for taking these pictures.

Pass The Potatoes Please

NOV. 30 - Mateo is now starting to eat table food. He may not have a single tooth breaking through but that doesn't stop him from enjoying some overcooked potatoes, sweet potatoes, and Mom's homemade baby food - YUMMY.

Squeeky Clean Puppy

DEC. 2 - Cute & Clean

Turban 'Teo

DEC. 1 - Look what we found... I think we'll keep him ; ) I hear the turban look is in.
(Thanks Auntie Tuesday for setting me straight.)

9 Months Old!!!

NOV. 26 - Yup! Another month has already passed and Mateo is 9 months old. At his most recent check-up he came in at a whopping 23 lbs and 2.2 ounces and just shy of 30 inches tall. Surprisingly he is only in about the 90th percentile. However, he is well proportioned. If he keeps this up, he's due to be about 6 feet tall! Whoo-hoo : ) Before we know it he'll be celebrating his FIRST BIRTHDAY! (I LOVE THAT SMILE!)

Getting ready for Bed

It's Dad turn to post. Can't let Ivy have all the fun. Here's a recent pic of Mateo getting ready for bed. In his jamees looking and waiting for that big fat bottle of leche to fill his tummy for bed.
